New Member Experience

Bid Day, Best Day.... YET

Of course we are SO excited to welcome home a new pledge class each year after recruitment. But, in Phi Mu, we believe that Bid Day isn't the best day you'll have in Phi Mu. You see, Phi Mu gets better with age. Our goal is that Bid Day is just the beginning of many great days to come in your time in Phi Mu. With that being said, we still love Bid Day! Last year's Bid Day theme was New Bids on the Block. We went off campus to Smooth Rock and celebrated welcoming our new members home!

Phi Retreat

Every year our new members, referred to as Phis, get to go on a Phi retreat with some exec members. This past year, our Phis went to Old Baker Farm and had the opportunity to pick pumpkins and make new friends! We always look forward to Phi retreat and all the new friendships that come with it.

Big Little Week & Reveal

Big Little Week is one of our favorite traditions in Phi Mu. Our New Member Director sets up Phi dates where new members go on dates with sophomores- to find your best match for a big sister! After a few dates, the New Member Director assigns Big/Little pairs and then the Bigs give gifts to the Littles for a whole week - hinting at their identity. Finally, on Big Little Reveal day, the Bigs reveal themselves to the Littles and the whole family celebrates the addition of a new Little!

Initiation

Our initiation ceremony is an event all new members look forward to. After initiation, our Phis earn their Mu and become Phi Mu's! Initiation is a secret ritual service, so we can't share many details, but Phi Mu families love to go to dinner and celebrate afterward. Many families have a tradition for initiation and love to shower the new Phi Mu's with tons of adorable Phi Mu merch!
