Hi friends!

My name is Emma Wolfe, and I have the pleasure of serving as Phi Mu Samford's President for 2024. First of all, I would like to say I am so glad you are here! Whether you're an incoming freshman or a returning student looking into going through recruitment, I would encourage you to take the risk - it may just be the best decision you ever make. 

​

With that being said, I want to take some time to brag on Phi Mu at Samford University. Growing up, I went to a small K-12 school and graduated with 25 people. My whole life I was used to just being friends with the people put around me, I never got to choose who I hung out with. Going into recruitment, I was so excited to finally get to choose my friends, but it turned out to be a lot more important than just that. During recruitment I was encouraged to look around the room in each chapter I went into. I was told to look at the women in each sisterhood and choose which women I wanted to be like.

The women in Phi Mu were those who held themselves with humility. It was evident in their endeavors that they strived to serve others before themselves. They looked at their sisters with dignity and respect. They pushed each other to new limits that wouldn't have been reached or considered otherwise. They loved unconditionally and forgave one another even when it was hard. They chose to resemble a servant-like love for one another in moments of disagreement and hardship. They saw others as more important than themselves - choosing to seek one another out wholeheartedly. But most of all, these women knew that Phi Mu doesn't shape them. Rather each woman shapes Phi Mu. Phi Mu is a transformative place, full of women pushing each other to be 1% better daily - and that alone helps each member reach new limits they never dreamt of reaching.

In Phi Mu we believe that individual gifts make the sisterhood as a a whole better. Without differences, we wouldn't have half as much talent, half as much creativity, half as much knowledge, and more importantly half as much excellence. Because each woman in Phi Mu brings a unique set of gifts to the table, we can work to sharpen each other day in and day out. Phi Mu is made better because of how it's members each individually shine - making the whole shine all the more. Individuals are a crucial part of the whole - making each member valuable beyond measure. Phi Mu strives for excellence in all things, and this is only made possible by the extreme love and honor with which our members serve one another. Joining Phi Mu is joining a place that will push you to new limits and mold you into a selfless leader in all your endeavors. Joining Phi Mu is joining a cause greater than yourself - one full of service and love with no bounds for the greater purpose of raising money for those who are less fortunate than ourselves.
